Lightstrike Pro Evo

Two tiers of the lightest foam adidas has moulded. A sculpted upper body over a stepped keel, bonded along one thin black line. 39 mm under the heel, an aggressive forefoot rocker, and open cells at every cut edge.

Heel stack. 36 mm at the forefoot on paper, 3 mm of drop, and a toe that lifts 6.5 cm off the ground.

Ultralight Ripstop

Derived from kitesurf sail material. Translucent, gridded, and non-stretch, so it drapes and creases around the foot instead of shrink-wrapping it. The Three Stripes are a halftone print, large dots thinning to the edges.

No plate

Energyrim

There is no carbon plate. A carbon rim traces the perimeter of the midsole in a U, open at the front, leaving bare foam underfoot. It steers the foot without stiffening the whole platform.

Outsole

Continental Rubber

One teardrop of Continental rubber over the forefoot, six curved sipes, and a small translucent window under the heel. Everything else that touches the road is foam.

Asymmetric

Split on the medial side

The rim runs continuously along the lateral side. On the medial side it stops in the heel and reappears in the forefoot, so the arch can flex where your foot flexes.

The record run

The shoe that broke the marathon.

Berlin, 24 September 2023. Tigist Assefa crossed the line in 2:11:53, more than two minutes under the women's world record, in the first Adizero Adios Pro Evo, a shoe built to be the lightest racing flat adidas had ever made and raced once.

The Evo 3 is the third generation of that idea. It keeps the discipline, one race weight and one race purpose, and replaces the rods with a carbon rim so the platform bends where a marathon needs it to.

Upper

Ultralight ripstop

A sail-grade fabric with a fine square grid. Translucent white, non-stretch, and light enough that the Three Stripes weigh more as print than the panel weighs as cloth.

Midsole

Lightstrike Pro Evo

Off-white and matte, visibly foam rather than plastic. Sculpted in two tiers with a thin black pinstripe tracing the bond line along the sidewall.

Propulsion

ENERGYRIM carbon

A carbon perimeter rim in place of a plate. Continuous on the lateral side, split on the medial side, open at the toe. Stiffness only where stiffness helps.

Outsole

Continental rubber

Charcoal with a violet cast, cut to a single teardrop over the forefoot with six curved sipes. Bare foam takes the rest of the road.
